Dear Reader,
I
am sending this special update email to all my Toolbox Members, as well
as to the people who have registered at some stage to receive
occasional information from me about the Share Market. (Any
non-member who no longer wants to receive this material can simply
unsubscribe using the link above).
Don't miss the news below about changes to the eBooks!!
Firstly, I do hope that everyone had a safe and happy celebration over the Christmas holiday period.
I managed to sneak in a few days of rest and relaxation,
as well as a lot of review and reflection (details below).
So,
another year has past, and the month of December was as hectic as it
often is - with not enough time to do everything properly (except
participate in the festivities - like the Traders Christmas Lunch in
Melbourne with about 20 traders attending - a great event with
reasonable food for a reasonable price!). But, this email is supposed to be all about the eBook (PDF) Articles!! With
yet another year passing, I now have a collection of almost 100 eBook
Articles totalling some 380 pages of printed notes that have taken more
than 2 years to compile. This is in addition to the earlier BullCharts Tip Sheets (which I must do more of) and the BullCharts tutorial videos that I have started preparing. There is still more material to write; but it is time to change the publication method. I
met up with one of our Toolbox Members from Perth over the holidays,
and we had a good chat about a number of things, and this confirmed
that it is time to take a step back and change the approach (thank you
Rama). Please read on.... |
The eBook Articles - What's New? and Why?
What are these eBook Articles? I
have been writing eBook Articles on three subject areas - Share
Trading/Investing, Technical Analysis and BullCharts software. They are
invaluable for both investors and traders. There is some introductory information About the Articles here. Anyone can view the list of Articles from the Articles Master List
web page, and Toolbox Members can click on the links there to view the
Articles. Any non-members can view the "Page 1" of each Article. And
the Detailed Topic Index will make it easy to find information on specific topics. Over
recent months there have been many more new Toolbox Members signing up.
So I need to do something to help these people understand what the
eBook Articles are all about, how to find information, and how to use
the Articles effectively. After all, these Articles are a part of the
total Toolbox offering to which Toolbox Members have subscribed. Changes for the future... Until
now I had been writing 3 or 4 new Articles each month over the last 24
months. Instead of new Articles each month I will now be writing some
notes that point to specific Articles on specific topics. And in some
cases I will need to write new Articles, and update existing ones. For example, in next month's email (January - to be done in a week or two) I will write about the idea of a Stop Loss. This
is something that is very fundamental to minimising our losses, and
protecting our capital. It doesn't matter whether we are an investor or
trader, the Stop Loss can be very useful. Unfortunately,
there is not one single way to determine the ideal Stop Loss - there
are many. Next month I will write about this, and point to the relevant
eBook Articles, and to some of the slide presentation material that
covers the same topic. |

Changes this month
With
the change in publishing approach for 2011, I have significantly
revised the Introduction Article, and the Overview Article for each of
the three subject areas. The Overview Articles in particular have been
revised because when they were originally written, they talked about
the information that was going to be included. But now, more than two years later, much of the material is now written.
If
you are maintaining your own soft-copy of the Articles, or printing
them, then you might want to download the following updates. And
recently new Toolbox Members might want to read the Overview Articles
to help understand what sort of material is included within the 100 or
so published Articles that are available in the Toolbox.

Latest Tables of Contents pages
Don't forget to download the three latest Table of Contents pages at any time. Links to these 2-page PDF files are included in the Quick Links section at right.
The Detailed Topic Index
is also available so that we can look up a list of keywords to find out
which published articles contain related information. See the link in
the Quick Links section at right.

Any problems?
What
if you have some sort of problem with accessing the Toolbox and any of
these Articles? Or maybe the Username and Password doesn't work.
If there is any problem, simply contact me by email or phone. The best email address for this is: support@robertbrain.com.
(Occasionally emails disappear - the system thinks they are spam, or
the ISP might think they are spam. If I don't reply within a day or so,
please contact me by other email address or phone.)

In Closing
There is nothing secret in this
email, so feel free to forward it to someone if you think they might
benefit from the information, or from being a Toolbox Member. The
easiest way to do this is to use the "Forward Email" link at the bottom.
I
am also confident that my Toolbox Members won't be sharing their
username and password with non-members. It is not fair that I spend all
this time preparing the materials, and then my Toolbox Members pay
money to have legitimate access, only to let some people pay nothing to
read and view the details.
Please
feel free to email an individual Article to others as a sample; but if
they want online access to all the materials, it is pretty cheap, so
they should subscribe as a Toolbox Member. There is information about Toolbox Membership in the Quick Links section at right.

Happy to receive feedback, or suggestions for new content or improvements.
Until next month,
Happy investing or trading,
