Latest News for ATAA Councillors and Board members - March 2013
|
|
|
Dear ATAA Councillor,
I
am sending this email to all ATAA Chapter Councillors and board members
to update you on some very important information, and to also remind
you that we are always happy to take feedback. New A5 Marketing Flyers
- Over the last couple of months we have prepared a set of four A5-size
marketing flyers to help promote key ATAA membership features. See more details below... The 2013 ATAA Conference
- Planning is frantically underway for this year's ATAA conference. We
have a 1-page initial promotional flyer for you to use to promote the
conference now, and we will have the official 6-page Conference Brochure
available in early April. See more details below... The ATAA board
- The board currently comprises nine directors, meets once each year
face-to-face, and has Skype meetings on a monthly basis to progress the
behind-the-scenes strategic planning and administration of the ATAA. You
can view a list of the directors on the ATAA web site by logging into the Member Area, and selecting: Corporate > Directors. Feedback and suggestions to the directors are always welcome. ATAA web site
- We can report that a lot of progress has been made with the new-look
ATAA web site, which is almost ready for launch. In coming weeks, you
will be sent an email asking you to provide some of your own details
regarding your participation on your Chapter Council. Please look out
for this email. (And you might have noticed that some of us are already
utilising the new ATAA email addresses for directors and councillors.) Brief reminder
of earlier topics in these occasional emails: The sets of presentation
slides for use at Chapter meetings and the Trading and Investing Expos -
referred to in the February 2012 email; and marketing tips (radio station WII-FM, and selling the sizzle, not the steak) - in the April 2012 email. If
you are no longer an ATAA Councillor, please send me an email to update
the records - simply reply to this email. If you have something to
share, please feel free to write to me.

| The Conference Flyer |
Planning is frantically underway for this year's ATAA conference. It
took the planning team quite a long time to lock in the 12 conference
speakers, and finalise the session topics and details; but that is now
done so the official 6-page Conference Brochure is now in the final
design stage. We plan to print it and have it to you in early April for
distribution at your April Chapter meetings. It will be sent to either
your Chapter Marketing Coordinator (detail below), or the Chapter
President. In the meantime, we have a 1-page Promotional Flyer
(pictured at right) for you to use at your chapter meetings to promote
the conference. It includes key conference details like: date, venue,
topics and speaker list. Further details about accommodation options,
etc., will be in the next monthly ATAA email newsletter. Supplies of this flyer have now been sent to your Chapter Marketing Coordinator, or President. If you want, you can also download a PDF copy of this flyer and print in colour, or black/white, for your own use.

| New A5-size flyers |
In April 2013 the ATAA is launching a series of four new A5-sized flyers
to help promote some of the key features of ATAA membership. They are
designed to help existing members maximise the benefits of ATAA
membership, and for use at Chapter meetings and Trading/Investing Expos
to help promote the ATAA and our membership features (in four cities in
2013). The photo at right shows the set of four flyers sitting
in a 4-tier brochure stand. To help us promote our services, each ATAA
Chapter needs to purchase one of these stands (and bill the ATAA for the
expense), and keep it stocked with just a few flyers (available from
the ATAA office in Sydney). The stand can be purchased from Officeworks for under $35. Note this is a 4-tier, A5-size, portrait configuration brochure stand (the one pictured is a Deflecto brand). This
is a very important role. We need the Chapter Marketing Coordinator to
look after the stand, and the supply of flyers. If the stock runs low,
please contact the ATAA Office (Anna V) and ask for some more. For
chapters without a coordinator, the Chapter President will need to
manage this, or delegate. Hopefully you will be able to find somewhere
safe to store the brochure stand in between chapter meetings. The four flyers cover the following topics:
- DVD Library - A step-by-step description of how
ATAA members can access the DVD Library, and borrow the DVD disks. The
flip side of the flyer lists some of the available DVD titles.
- Suggested Resources - Just a few sample book and DVD titles that are recommended reading / viewing for newbies, and intermediates.
- Formal Education - Some introductory information about the formal education on offer - what it is, and how to get more details.
- Popular Charting Tools & Data Providers - A list of popular charting tools used by many of the ATAA members, with a list of some data providers on the flip side.
A4-size PDF versions of these documents will soon be available for you to download and/or print out for your own use.

| Membership renewal incentive
|
You would have seen in
earlier ATAA monthly email newsletters to all ATAA members that we are
offering an incentive for members to renew their membership before it
falls due. Members who renew before their expiry date will be
automatically entered into the prize draw. There are three separate
draws in the current financial year, with the first two draws having
already taken place. The final draw will be done in June for the members
renewing in the months of December 2012 to May 2013. On each occasion
the prize is either a voucher to the value of $130 for books and/or DVDs
from the Educated Investor Bookshop,
or a 6-month extension of your ATAA membership (your choice). For more
details, refer to your past editions of the ATAA Monthly email
Newsletter.

| Published articles!
|
You are probably aware
that a team of experienced ATAA members have been contributing to
articles in Fairfax newspapers and on the web. You can see a list of all 130+ articles here,
with links to scanned copies and to online Fairfax website versions. We
are always happy to take feedback on these initiatives, so please feel
free to write to us. And we are regularly contributing to articles in
the monthly ASX Investor Update email newsletter. See the latest contribution from Gary Burton (ATAA Sydney).

| Chapter Marketing Coordinators
|
To help with promoting
the 2011 Adelaide ATAA Conference, we invited our nine chapters to
nominate someone as the local Chapter Marketing Coordinator. We had
positive responses from a couple of chapters, so these volunteers have
been contributing where they can.
To help promote this
year's conference we will be relying on the Chapter Marketing
Coordinators to be knowledgeable about the conference details, and to
actively promote the conference in their local chapter. And with the new
set of A5 Marketing Flyers mentioned above, we now have another job for
the Coordinators.
For more information about this role, see the role guidelines sheet, and the current list of coordinators on this ATAA Marketing web page (in the right-hand column). Feel free to contact Robert Brain to discuss this role in your chapter.
|
I
do hope you find this information and the materials useful. Please feel
free to send feedback and ideas. More ATAA marketing information coming
soon.
Best Regards
Robert B. Brain ATAA National Director (Marketing & Member Services) |
At some stage in the future, these emails and related materials will all be managed by the new ATAA web site. Until then, Robert Brain and Brainy's Share Market Toolbox is hosting these facilities. If you are no longer an ATAA Councillor, please email Robert Brain to have your name taken off the mailing list manually (please don't use the UnSubscribe option at this stage). |
